Orlando
About This Destination
Orlando started as a quiet farming town in 1970, but now has more visitors than any other place in the state. The reason, of course, is Walt Disney World, which, along with Universal Studios, Sea World and a host of dozens of other themed attractions, pulls more than 25 million people a year to a previously featureless plot of scrubland.
Did You Know?
Orlando's international draw did not begin until 1965 when the first plans for a park were released to the public.
